Offerings include directions and suggested articles and discussion agendas for hosting or participating in a journal club for RDNs and NDTRs interested in earning CPE credits while discussing articles about nutrition and dietetics education.


 

ACEND® Accreditation Workshops and Training on 2017 ACEND Accreditation Standards


ACEND® Program Director Workshops

The Program Director workshops are designed to help dietetic education program directors and administrators learn the latest accreditation standards and specific details on how to prepare for self-study reports, program assessment reports and site visits.

Individuals interested in applying to start a new ACEND® program as well as newly appointed program directors are welcome and encouraged to attend and may be eligible for a registration discount. If you meet the discount requirements, as outlined in the ACEND® fee schedule, contact ACEND® at acend@eatright.org for a discount code before you register. Twelve hours (Level 2) CPE credit available for attendance.

Preparing for the ACEND® Accreditation Review - 2012 Standards

Self-paced program director training – available anytime, anywhere!

This self-paced course prepares participants to participate in the ACEND accreditation process using the 2012 standards to accurately complete a Program Assessment Report (PAR) or Self-Study Report and effectively plan for and participate in a site visit. The course includes the ACEND® Accreditation "U" Foundation Modules and the ACEND® 2012 Standards Webinars collection for the same cost as if purchasing these two items separately.

CPE Hours: 19 (when completing all assigned activities)
Cost: $145 member; $200 non-member


ACEND® Accreditation "U" Foundation Modules – 2012 Accreditation Standards

Learn the basics of ACEND® accreditation and the requirements to obtain and maintain accreditation under the 2012 accreditation standards. Format is a downloadable PDF and online quiz.

Cost: $85 Academy member; $115 non-member


ACEND® 2012 Standards Webinars

This webinar series addresses how to write the Self-Study Report and PAR, host the site visit and complete the accreditation process to meet the ACEND® 2012 accreditation standards. Information on completing a quiz to earn CPE credit is included in the webinar.

Program Reviewer Training


Writing a Quality Site Visit Report

This webinar provides training for reviewers on completing a site visit report using the site visit report template. By completing the webinar, reviewers will be able to write a site visit report using the template, thoroughly document standards compliance, non-compliance and recommendations and use effective writing practices to develop a well-written comprehensive site visit report. Information on completing a quiz to earn one CPE is included in the webinar. Requires logging in to the ACEND® Portal.

Lead Reviewer Training

This webinar provides training for existing lead reviewers and anyone interested in the role of a lead reviewer. By completing it, reviewers will be able to describe the role of the lead reviewer, identify and define key tasks the lead reviewer is responsible for completing, and describe strategies for leading an efficient and productive site visit process. It was developed as a collaborative effort by ACEND® staff and experienced lead reviewers. Information on completing a quiz to earn one CPE is included in the webinar. Journal Club


Hosting a Journal Club Directions

Hosting or participating in a journal club allows you to interact with your peers and stay abreast of recent research and information related to dietetics while earning CDR Type 160 Journal Club CPE credits. As part of ACEND's mission to promote quality and innovation in dietetics education, ACEND® is providing support for earning journal club CPE credits. While ACEND® cannot directly provide these CPE credits, it has developed tips and discussion agendas for suggested articles related to dietetics education you can use to get started. These agendas are offered below.
